Boot Floor Extention Panel ALA4791
£72.00 (ex VAT £60.00)
This panel is what makes the hornet and elf that bit longer. it is welded to a standard mini boot floor with no modifications.
The panel simply sits over the back edge of the boot floor where on a normal mini the bumper would sit, to the extent that if you can find an original boot floor you can still see the bumper holes where the extension piece was welded on! The pattern was taken from a 64 car
Because this is a long thin panel with a lot of shape pushed into it, it is somewhat floppy and easily flexes. This is easily rectified as it is welded in place if this is done carefully and with patience so as to minimise further distortion. Some fettling and dressing will be required to get it to sit perfectly level and the outside edge where the bumper sits, I have left this a few mm long to take in any discrepancies that occur when rebuilding. If you are replacing the whole boot floor then I would suggest that you fit the boot floor first and then this panel
It is manufactured from zinctec steel which means that it come with a coating of zinc which can be left on for painting, but you need to use an etch primer. Obviously this coating is damaged by working the metal so the covering is incomplete but the panel is supplied in a carrier coat over these areas to prevent storage corrosion
As a special deal, I will supply the extension panel and the boot floor brackets £108, see part no cat1008
International carriage as this is going to be expensive ( I anticipate in the region of over £50), but until I get one to the post office I will not know
